Food Up Front | Free Seeds for Your Toronto Front Yard or Balcony

Cultivating Community, One Front Yard at a Time

Homestead T.O. is proud to partner with Transition Toronto on Food Up Front this year!

Transition Toronto launched Food Up Front in 2020 to help our community grow local food during the pandemic. Between 2020 and 2023, Food Up Front provided over 1,000 households with free seeds, turning boulevards and front lawns into vibrant edible landscapes.

We believe that when you grow food in your front yard, you don’t just feed yourself, you inspire your neighbours, reduce food mile emissions, and build a more resilient Toronto.
